I can’t understand how women could support that religion. The first Wife of Adam was banished for she had the audacity to be equal to the man, so God made Eve out of Adams rib forever being lesser than man.

FWIW, Lilith, the first wife of Adam, is Jewish folklore and not supported by any Christian texts.

Yeah. I grew up in a fundamentalist household and the first time I heard about Lillith was in Hazbin Hotel fanfiction.

Most of what I know about world religions comes from Age of Mythology, World of Darkness rulebooks and Powerwolf lyrics

Her name is not mentioned, but in Genesis first God creates man and woman at the same time as equals, but then it says Adam was alone and created a woman from his rib. So you can read that as two women being created at different points in time.

That is not necessarily what the text says.

Genesis 1 states that god created man and woman.

Genesis 2 is the detailed retelling of when he made man and woman.

Not that it has to be logically sound, it’s a myth after all. Anyone can interpret it in any way, and be just as correct as everyone else!

I read a comment thread, arguing that conservative women will accept a position in a society, that while it makes them lesser to men, it enables them to treat those they view as lesser how they want. So a cis, straight, white woman will be fine being treated as secondary to cis, straight, white man, as long as it allows them to yell at gay baristas and be mean to non-white waiters, things of that nature.

        Relatable.

I try not to be an asshole these days but when I was young, I was bullied a lot. This made me angry and bitter, for which I sought an outlet, and chose to vent that frustration by bullying others who I felt were “less than” me in some way.

Regretable, of course, but I can see how even if the cis white woman doesn’t choose the course in which they are deemed “less than” the cis white man, they may still accept it and begin to participate in / perpetuate the cycle.
