Look in the direction of sociology, and on your way, take a peek at Buddhist theories of mind. The Buddha was a real philosopher whose system is partially used today everywhere in psychology. Christianity popped up in an area dominated by Western philosophy, and it’s valuable to take a look at what the East had going on.
