Coelacanth! I like this picture because it makes it look goofy. Coelacanths were thoguht to be extinct because the youngest fossil we had of one was 66 million years old, but in 1938 off the coast of South Africa, one was caught and identified.

Their fins don’t move like pretty much any other fish… because they are from an ancient epoch where a different kind of fish dominated the seas.
